Interdisziplinäres Zentrum für
Bewegungs- und Sportmedizin
Wuppertal e.V.
In line with the overarching project Haemophilia in Motion (HIM), the sports and activity camps for people with haemophilia in Germany also run under the name Haemophilia in Motion, where Programmed Sports Therapy (PST) is implemented.
The camps take place twice a year (April/May & October) over 3.5 days in Bad Blankenburg (Thuringia) and are open to anyone who wants to do something beneficial for their body through exercise and sport. Everyone is welcome—whether you want guided physical activity or the motivation of a group to overcome your inner hurdles. Our aim is to strengthen participants’ self-efficacy in exercising with haemophilia and to provide tailored advice for their individual training.
The camp programme is individually adapted to participants’ needs and circumstances. In addition to training sessions, theoretical seminars, talks, open discussions, and one-to-one or group treatments offer opportunities to address personal concerns and share experiences. Once a year, assessments are conducted to monitor therapy success and training effects, including joint status evaluations and questionnaires on subjective well-being. Throughout the camp, an experienced team of sports physicians, physiotherapists, and sports therapists is on site to support participants.
